What's the best batting for baby quilts?

I'm making some baby quilts and wanted to know what type of batting would be the best.
I want to make sure it doesn't bunch as I quilt them, but also don't want it to be to heavy.
Any suggestions.
Thank you.

There are so many great battings out there to choose from. One of my favorite battings for baby quilts is 100% cotton with a scrim. It washes up beautifully and seems to soften after multiple washes. It is a batting that will last through the life of the quilt. Another good choice (my opinion of course) is a hollow fiber poly that has been siliconized. A very soft batting. Sometimes people like to double up for more loft. This is a choice made when a rigorous washing regiment will be used.

The batting type may depend on the type of fabric you are using and also the desired loft you want for the quilt. If a little loft is wanted with not too much weight, I have used wool batting. This batting drapes nicely, gives a little "puff" to the quilt but it soft and light weight.

I like to use Dream Angel by Quilters Dream Batting. The batting is fire retardant and has a good feel to it. While not fireproof I feel comforted to know that the batting will not burn as readily as cotton or melt and stick like polyester.

I make lots of baby quilts.
Hobbs Heirloom 80/20 (80% cotton and 20% polyester) is my favorite.
Soft, holds its shape for a long time and lots of washings.
