About Yourself:
Developing and teaching simpler ways for quilting that have guaranteed results is what I am all about. I believe anyone that wants to sew (and even those who haven't given it a thought) can sew. With some simple, basic concepts, most people can make a quilt easily.
I made my first quilt when I was only 8 or 9 for my dolls. Then I took Singer Sewing classes when I was 11 to learn how to sew my own clothes. Throughout the years I continued sewing clothes and then "found" quilting in 1984. Wow, I was hooked on the fabrics, the textures, the colors, the designs, the challenge of making my own creations!
As I began teaching the methods I was developing, I was also applying my engineering experience to general quilting and how to make the process be successful without guessing and hoping everything would turn out.
I wish I had been taught early on the simpler methods that I now know. I can't imagine where I would be if I had. My goal is to have anyone who wants to sew or quilt, doing so and being successful because of the simple concepts I teach.
Quilting focus or specialty:
60 degree designs that are strip-pieced, simple tools and methods for success
Subjects you teach:
basics, value & color, tumbling blocks, 60 log cabin, 6 ptd stars, machine quilting
